Founded with a commitment to responsibility, compassion, and respect for both animals and people, 5R Racehorse Charity Foundation is dedicated to supporting the welfare, care, and second-chance opportunities for racehorses, while also contributing to community education and outreach. Our work focuses on promoting ethical treatment, responsible transitions, and long-term well-being for horses beyond the racetrack.

Our Mission
Our mission is to protect, support, and rehabilitate racehorses by providing resources for aftercare, retraining, rehabilitation, and responsible rehoming. We also aim to educate communities on ethical horse care, promote industry responsibility, and support programs that improve equine welfare standards.
Through collaboration and stewardship, 5R Racehorse Charity Foundation works to create a future where every racehorse is valued beyond competition.
Why We Do It
Many racehorses face uncertain futures after their racing careers end due to injury, financial limitations, or lack of long-term planning. Without support, these horses are at risk of neglect or abandonment.
We believe responsibility does not end at the finish line. Inspired by the principles of the “5R” philosophy—Responsibility, Respect, Rehabilitation, Retraining, and Rehoming—our foundation exists to ensure that racehorses receive lifelong care, opportunity, and protection.
🐎 Racehorse Aftercare & Transition Program
We provide funding and support for veterinary care, rehabilitation, retraining, and safe rehoming of retired or injured racehorses. This program helps horses transition into new careers or peaceful retirement.
When: Ongoing throughout 2025
Goal: Support the aftercare and transition of 120+ racehorses

📘 Education, Advocacy & Community Outreach
We promote awareness of responsible horse ownership and ethical racing practices through educational initiatives, outreach programs, and partnerships with equine professionals and organizations.
When: Year-round education and awareness campaigns
Goal: Reach 2,000+ individuals through education and advocacy efforts in 2025
